Ledford joins Christian Medical & Dental Associations

Bristol, Tenn.—May 31, 2022—Scott Ledford of Piney Flats, Tennessee has joined the staff of Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA) as Director of Human Resources, where he will focus on managing the ministry’s human resources initiatives, overseeing employment needs and promoting the organization’s values.

“I have been extremely blessed over my career to work for some great organizations and to serve within the Tri-Cities community in many aspects, and to join the staff at CMDA is an incredible opportunity to glorify God through my work,” said Ledford.

A native of East Tennessee, Scott graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1994 and began his career in human resources with Burlington Industries, a North Carolina-based textile manufacturer. In 1998, he returned to the Tri-Cities to begin a 23+ year tenure with General Shale, the nation’s largest brick and masonry materials manufacturer, where he worked in a variety of capacities within human resources, ultimately overseeing the company’s North American human resources operations. In April 2022, God opened a door allowing Scott to become CMDA’s Director of Human Resources.

“We are overjoyed Scott is on our team,” stated CMDA’s Chief Operating Officer Jamey Campbell. “This is a wonderful example where God has placed the exact person with the skill set needed at CMDA.”

Scott and his family are active members of Fellowship Baptist Church, where he serves as a Deacon and Chair of the Personnel Committee. Additionally, he serves on a variety of community boards, including 2022 Chair-Elect of the Johnson City, Tennessee Chamber of Commerce. Scott and his wife Tracie have been married for 26 years and have two children: Lauren (21) and Drew (19).

Founded in 1931, CMDA currently serves more than 16,000 members and provides programs and services supporting its vision of “bringing the hope and healing of Christ to the world through healthcare professionals.” CMDA coordinates a network of Christian healthcare professionals for personal and professional growth; sponsors student ministries in medical and dental schools; conducts overseas healthcare projects for underserved populations; addresses policies on healthcare, medical ethics and bioethical and human rights issues; distributes educational and inspirational resources; and provides missionary healthcare professionals with continuing education resources.
