About Our Guest

R. Bruce Templeton, DMDB, received his dental training at the University of Manitoba, Canada. He worked as a general dentist in Canada’s far north serving the Inuit people prior to his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the University of Minnesota. He was in the private practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery for eleven years prior to returning to academics and federal service. Bruce is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He was an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and Chief of Dentistry at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota for 20 years after a private practice of Oral Surgery career. He holds the rank of clinical professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Bruce has served as chief of surgery at North Memorial Medical Center, a level I trauma center, president of the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and president of the Minnesota Dental Association and Minneapolis District Dental Society. He is a consultant at Delta Dental of Minnesota. Bruce traveled and performed surgery and teaching in Peru and after he was unable to travel to do surgical mission trips concentrated his service teaching here in the U.S.A. and internationally. Bruce is married to Laura-Gail and they are blessed with 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
